If 5x + 18 = 20, what is 2x + 3?

From my period 2 Algebra class

Answers

David Chen

First, find what x equals.
5x + 18 = 20 (subtract 18)
5x = 2 (divide by 5)
x = 2/5

Now, insert it into the other equation
2(2/5) + 3
4/5 + 3
3 4/5 or 3.8

3.8.

subtract 18 from each side
now divide each side by 5 so x=.4

2(.4)+ 3= 3.8
